Mr. Roger Byrd
is the Principal of Prior Lake Christian School. He also
teaches the students in the Senior High Learning Center. Mr. Byrd is a graduate of Pillsbury
Baptist Bible College and Central Theological Seminary. He has
been serving the Lord in churches and Christian schools since
1975. This is his 22nd year at Prior Lake Christian
School. He says that his favorite subject
when he was in school was Math. He says he liked Math because
he enjoyed mind problems and challenges in games, quizzes, and
Math. One of the reasons Mr. Byrd enjoys working at Prior Lake
Christian School is because he likes working with the students.
He enjoys seeing them learn new concepts and becoming friends
with them.
Mr. David Miller is the Upper
Elementary Learning Center Teacher. I
consider it a privilege to minister at Prior Lake Christian
School. The Lord has carefully directed my steps. Allow
me to share a few different aspects of my life. I was raised
in a large family (twelve brothers and sisters). From my early
youth, education has been of great interest to me. I
especially enjoy Math, English, and History. I completed my
Bachelor of Science Degree at Pillsbury Baptist Bible College in
1977. My vision
for my students is for them to desire Christ and His presence, and
have a great passion to serve Him.
Miss Leah Byrd is the Lower Elementary
Learning Center Teacher. My life has basically mirrored that which the Apostle Paul stated in II Timothy 3:15, "and that from a child thou hast known the Holy Scriptures, which were able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith in Christ Jesus." Shortly after my conversion at the age of five, I began to hear God calling me into the full time ministry of teaching in a Christian day school. Scripture states to, "neglect not the gift that is in thee" and "walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called." Therefore, I have lived my life in light of this principle.
I was a teacher's assistant throughout my high-school years, and taught in various children's church
groups. I graduated from Pillsbury Baptist Bible College with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a heavy emphasis on child development and psychology.
It excites me now to be teaching at Prior Lake Christian and to be given the opportunity to love and exhort my students while watching them grow up in the "knowledge and admonition of the Lord."
Mrs. Alina Burtman
is the
Kindergarten Teacher. She
counts it a privilege to be serving the Lord at PLCS because it has
been her dream to become a Kindergarten teacher ever since she was a
Kindergartener herself. When she was little, Mrs.
Burtman had her very own pretend classroom. It was equipped
with little plastic desks and even a teacher's cabinet. She has
completed two years of Bible college majoring in Bible and
Elementary Education and minoring in Speech. She
has also taught in various preschools in the area. Her favorite verse
is Jeremiah 33:3 which states, "Call unto me and I will answer
thee and show thee great and might things which thou knowest
not." If you ask her, she will tell you the best part
about being a Kindergarten teacher is teaching the children to love
God more.
Pastor Ronald Groschel
is the Pastor of Prior Lake Baptist Church. He
said that his favorite subject in school was Science. Pastor Groschel
enjoyed Science because he liked to learn how things worked.
Pastor Groschel enjoys serving at Prior Lake Baptist Church because
he is confident that this is where God would have him be.
He also enjoys it because he says, "The people of the church
have been such a joy to pastor." Pastor Groschel says that
one of his most memorable experiences was the building program.
"God helped us do what no one thought possible."
Mrs. Bonnie Byrd
is the secretary at Prior Lake Christian School Mrs. Byrd has been the secretary at
Prior Lake Baptist Church and Christian School for 21 years. She said that one of her favorite
subjects in school was Science. She enjoyed Science because she enjoyed
studying animals and nature. Mrs. Byrd likes working with Prior
Lake Baptist Church and School because she enjoys being part of the Church's
ministry. She also enjoys working with the people who have dedicated
their hearts and lives to serving the Lord. One of the most memorable
experiences Mrs. Byrd has had was the remodeling
and additions to the Church building. Mrs. Byrd said, "It
was especially memorable and increased my faith to see how the
Lord provided the funds and continues to bless our church financially."
